Coffee Corner

Okay y'all, for a while now I have been sitting around whining about how badly my house needs some new pizzaz and day dreaming about how to achieve this. My amazing family showed up this past weekend and worked their tales off for two straight days to help me remove a tree, lay out the new garden area, paint my front steps, clean and seal my back deck, clean out my shed, and rearrange my entire kitchen. I think my favorite change of all was working together with my mom to create the start of my coffee station. I am so in love y'all!! All my favorite things in one little area of my kitchen. Disclaimer: this is just the beginning, so it is still a bit plain.

My previous (fantastic) neighbors left my amazing wine rack on the back porch as a welcome home gift when I first moved in four years ago (I can't believe it has been that long!!).

I have had this red tray for four years now as well and use to have it sitting up on a plate display on top of my cabinets... had to break it out as my mug holder.

Go grab up my new favorite mug from target while they are still in stock. Super cute teal pattern. My baby (Keurig 2.0) loves it's new home. I have an outlet directly behind my wine rack that I never used, so it was perfect placement for my coffee station.

As you can tell, my mother thought she was hilarious by putting my Mister Tea tea infuser into his own personal coffee station hot tub. **the plastic is not just trash hanging out, it is actually a keurig 2.0 carafe hack that my brother-in-law snipped up for me yesterday**

Do you have a coffee station!? What do you use for your K-cup storage?

don't you see, it's ipsy!

Oh ladies, if you are not already signed up for Ipsy beauty bag or if you are signed up for birchbox... it's time to sign up or switch! If you have already read some of my posts you should know that I am an absolute fan of birchbox, but ipsy comes in adorable makeup bags every month! I love having different odds and ends bags that match my different purses and totes. I have really enjoyed getting my five beauty products in a bag instead of a box every month. It works the same way though... get your bag, snap a staged picture of your items, review each item online, and then use the crap out of each one!

Here is a picture of my favorite bag to date:

Do you have Ipsy? If so, which month has been your favorite?

Blueberry summer lovin'

If you live in the Chesterfield/Prince George area it is safe to say that you NEED to head on over to Adam's Acres for some blueberries and corn. Since my niece was born my older sister has had some free time to run around with momma and I. We decided to take a girls day (including the newest girl addition) and go pick some blueberries. We had a blast y'all! The blueberries are so yummy and we bought a couple pounds each for our smoothies and blueberry-lemon pies. Go out and find a place to pick some fresh fruit and veggies this summer, you won't regret it!

Warning: target for teacher!

Every woman loves target (as my best friend calls it, The mothership), but if you didn't already know it is a teacher's wonderland! I can always find something adorable that fits perfectly with my theme of the year in my classroom. Target makes sure to follow the trends of the times so I don't ever feel like my classroom has walked right out of the 90's. Now for the warning...

WARNING: the dollar section is currently packed with adorable (very cheap) classroom items! RUN, do not walk, TO TARGET RIGHT NOW.

Here are some of the adorable items that I picked up:

(not pictured: 8 pocket pocket chart, pocket chart blank strips, bulletin board flags)

I fell in love with these puzzles and for $3 dollars each they are an awesome addition to my special education classroom! All three teach excellent basic skills for lower level students.

-I have picked up the window clings from the target dollar section for each holiday because they are the easiest and cutest way to decorate the door for each season.
-As simple as it is, this map is probably my favorite purchase of the day because my theme for this year is read across the United States. I am going to add some winding strings to indicate the flight routes (reading goals) for each of my students.

If anyone knows me and my classroom they can tell you that I am obsessed with stamps and stickers. Therefore, I could NOT pass up on these adorable stamp and self-inking stamp sets! They are just too cute and my students will love them just as much as I do when they see them on the top of their returned papers.

I really liked these colorful sets of numbers and letters because my students can manipulate them on the board to create words or equations. I did not need to get more than one letter set because I am a special education teacher and simple sight words are very important to our classroom.

-I fell in love with these name tags because they don't say "Hi my name is:" so I can use them for anything!
-I thought these birthday bookmarks were super cute and would be a cute touch to my birthday bags.
-Bullentin board accents are always fun and these speech bubbles will be adorable over pictures of my students!

As I said, if you are a teacher run to target right now because the dollar section is packed just for us! Then show off your purchases because I would love to see them!

Fourth of July OOTD

Alright y'all, I know it isn't much but I thought I would share my outfit of the day for the Fourth of July. I am always super busy with family and friends on the fourth whether it be at picnics or fireworks chasing around my little cousins. I always make sure I am in something light and breathable so I can play with them and not feel gross.

                                                        white t-shirt: $3.00 at walmart
sailboat and firework print linen shorts: old navy

What did you wear for the Fourth of July?

Have you had your vitamins today?

During the past year I made a very concious decision to begin the regiment for my body so that I would not regret my health decisions in the future and also help me fight off some of the germs from my students at school! Do you know how sick new teachers get? It's like once a week if you were not aware. (yuck!) I want to share with you the three vitamins that I am on at the moment and I will make sure to fill you in when I begin adding more to my diet.

The first vitamin is pretty self-explanitory... Viatmin C should be in EVERYONE's vitamin diet no matter what. It helps support your immune system and is very important for people that work with children or patients of any kind. Do not skip it!

B-12: This vitamin was adding to my regiment after I realized how drowsy and slow I was feeling after a day worth of teaching and working with students. You just never realize how rough being on your feet all day is until you begin adulting to the fullest. I heard from one of the other teachers that they take B-12 to boost their energy metabolism and boom... there was an easy decision! It really does work y'all. I am not NEARLY as tired as I was before adding it to my diet.

Biotin: This last vitamin was a pretty selfish choice for me. I was suffering through that all-too-well-known "my hair is at such an awkward length" part of my haircut, so I decided to give biotin a shot. The difference in my hair, nails, and skin was overwhelmingly amazing! It is incredible y'all. Please go pick some up today if you are in need of healthy skins, nails, or hair.

                                                      What vitamins do you take?

Stitch Fix

Recently I decided that I wanted to try this cool "personal shopper-esque" type program that they were all talking about, and I do not regret making this choice at all! I am very excited to bring this post to you about Stitch Fix and the awesome program that it is. The steps are simple:

1. Sign up at www.stitchfix.com
2. Make sure to fill out the personal style survey!! (very important)
3. Let your personal shopper do the hard work for you and wait for your package in the mail!
4. Get your package and TRY ON EVERYTHING!
5. It is then up to you to get online and rate the items that came and make some VERY difficult decisions.
6. When the hardest part is over you simply buy what you want and put what you don't back into the bag and ship it off.

Here are some pictures of the opening process and what my personal shopper included!

P.S. Sorry that all the pictures are a bit dark, but I absolutely LOVED everything in my shipment. Everything fit perfectly and I can't wait for my next one.
